Down Perm in Nottingham: Is It Right for Your Hair?

Find out what to discuss before a Korean-style down perm in Nottingham, including side shape, haircut plans and whether the finish suits you.

Service guide · Zeno @ JNine · Nottingham

Hair at the sides can sometimes stick out or feel difficult to shape. A down perm is a service you can ask about when you want the sides to sit closer to the head. Whether it is a good choice depends on your hair and the finish you have in mind, so start with a consultation.

What to discuss in a consultation

Show your stylist how your hair sits now and explain what you would like to change. A photo of your preferred side profile can help. Also say how you normally style your hair and whether you want a haircut at the same appointment.

At Zeno's chair at J Nine Hair, the plan is discussed before the service starts. Zeno will talk through suitability and the finish you want. Every head of hair is different, so a reference photo is useful for explaining your goal, but it cannot guarantee an identical result.

Down perm or haircut?

A haircut can change the outline and weight of the sides. A down perm is a separate chemical service intended to help hair sit closer. Some clients may want to discuss both; others may prefer a haircut alone. Ask what each option can do for your hair before choosing.

Zeno lists Korean Style Down Perm as a perm-only service, so a haircut is not included in that booking. If you want both, check Booksy for the combined service or ask which appointment to select. Current availability, prices and service details are shown on Booksy.

Before you book

Tell Zeno about recent colour, bleach, perms or other chemical treatments. Bring a couple of photos and be ready to talk about how much change you want. If you are not sure whether a down perm is suitable, ask before booking; the consultation is the right time to agree on a realistic plan.

Zeno works independently from a chair at J Nine Hair, 1 Bridlesmith Walk, Nottingham NG1 2HB. Book him through his own Booksy profile. English, Cantonese and Mandarin are spoken.
